ACT coach for expats
How I became a life coach …
I’ve experienced some of the stuff you’re dealing with. I’m a Dutch citizen, having lived in France, Belgium and the US.
I know that gnawing feeling of loneliness and a sense of not belonging. In my case, as a teenager I felt left out, different and misunderstood. I spend a good part of my time abroad figuring out who I am and what I want, and I did find answers. Little by little, working with a self help group, coaches and later on doing formal coaching studies in renowned schools, I found ways to deal with my anxiety and depression. I am eager to share my experience and expertise with you!
…and an ACT for Expats Coach
Aside from studies and work in painting, journalism and language teaching, I completed over the years several coaching courses, an education as a registered life coach and a study in TA, transactional analysis.
While studying TA, I encountered coaches who were working with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and I knew right away that I wanted to work with this method. Over the past two years I took courses in ACT with Gijs Jansen in the Netherlands (ACT Guide), done extensive self-studying (Russ Harris, Robyn Walser, Darrah Westrup) and I have coached several clients, one on one and in a group. To my great delight, clients are happy to work with me!
My mission and expertise
My mission is to guide you in your new country to a happier life in which you chose what you really want to do and take steps in the right direction. In 2018 I became a registered life coach after completing a study at the Atma Institute in Amersfoort, years later I specialized in Transactional Analysis at the Corael Institute in De Bilt and over the last 3 years I’ve studied Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with Gijs Jansen and other ACT experts.
